We were visiting Lucerne in Switzerland. While walking along the well known Chapel Bridge, I saw it, a white castle beckoning from afar. It sat on top of a hill like a queen watching over the city. The queen is called Chateau Gütch and is presently a hotel which can only be accessed by funicular from below.
We immediately decided to visit. Keeping our eyes on the beckoning queen we walked and walked and walked until at last we found ourselves at the foot of the hill where she sat.
There we were confronted by a solid brick wall with no instructions as to how to find the entrance. We stood around until other visitors arrived who were just as lost as we were.
At last we figured out that we had to enter through an obscure door around the corner where we found the funicular which would take us up to the castle. It was so near but yet so far.
And there she was.
By this time we were parched and hungry, so we had a most delightful lunch on the terrace. Sitting there with an ice cold glass of wine and a 380 degree view of Lucerne, I felt like the richest woman on earth.

Thinking about the topic layered brought many thoughts. I am intrigued by people and the layers of emotions we all have . Sometimes it stays hidden deep down and at other times it is quite obvious .Therefore my interpretation of the topic layered focuses on people and their emotions .

Thinking about the question what would distract me and cause me to stop that which I am busy with, I immediately thought about clouds. I always see clouds and will even stop while driving to look at interesting clouds. Here are a few.

Nothing brings me more under the impression of the elements of earth and how insignificant humans are as mountains. Therefore to me elemental is represented by the majesty of mountains .

I took these pictures while walking across the Mill Bridge In Lucerne Switzerland. This wooden bridge is the original dating from the 16th century and was part of the city’s fortification. Citizens of the town crossed the bridge daily. The wood is old and weathered and in my mind’s eye I could almost hear the sounds of swords, voices and wagons. . This part of the bridge is wider to allow wagons access to it.
